Well, it's been a month. Yes, a full month has passed since my last blog post. A full month has come and gone since election day. The world hasn't ended. I didn't go into semi-seclusion. Admittedly, I have begun to embrace Obama as our President. I certainly do not look foward to it, but there's no use in fighting it. That's what 2012 is for:-)
So where do I go from here? Well recently I was elected to be President of College Republicans at VCU. It's a position that I intend to work hard at and strive to improve our presence on campus and in the state. I also have some other big things going on that I will discuss in my next post, including an endorsement from me.
I would like to thank all of the readers who have visited this blog from all parts of this great country and across the world. It's quite humbling to think about. With that being said, I plan on focusing this blog on Virginia-related news mostly over the next year. I will drop the occassional national story in (most likely about McCain, Palin or Jindal) but for now, the focus will be on Virginia.
For those of you who live in Danville, VA I want to tell you that I plan on running for City Council in Danville in 2012. It's something that I've given a lot of thought to and I feel that I can be bring a new dimension to the town's growth and development. While there is still much time until then, I plan on actively getting involved in the development process of Danville within the next couple of years. I believe in the people of Danville and I hope that, in time, you will believe in me. I know that together we can acheive many great things and make Danville a city full of growth and prosperity. I have lived in Danville for nearly my entire life. I have seen good times and bad for the River City, but I still believe that Danville has yet to see it's brightest days. I want to restore faith in people's minds that anything is possible. I want young people to look to the future, reach for the stars and live a life that is far from ordinary. I can be that new voice for Danville.
But there will be plenty of time to discuss all of that.
For now, I just want to say: I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, and will have a joyous holiday season over the next few weeks. Keep checking back in on the blog, because I'm back and ready to go!!
Best Wishes,
Lee Vogler
