Points for the Week: Miami Dolphins, Britney Spears and Bob McDonnell

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all you blogees and blogettes out there. Let me start out this blog by saying, "WOW!" That's the only word I can use to describe the season that the Miami Dolphins are having this year. From worst to first, the Dolphins continue to shock the NFL. Last year they went 1-15 and were lucky to get that win. This year so far, they are 9-5 and hold a share of first place in the AFC East. If they win their next 2 games, they win the division. That simple. With just one more victory they will have completed the biggest single-season turnaround in NFL history.

As a life-long Fin Fan, I can say that I can't think of a time when I was prouder of this team. They have defied logic. Even with a 9-5 record, there remains a group of haters out there who have yet to buy into Miami being a good team. That's fine. I prefer the underdog role. It's going to be an interesting few weeks.

And how about Britney Spears? Yes, Britney Spears. Her new album has hit the streets and entered the airwaves. And while I have not heard the entire CD, I can say that I'm fairly impressed with what I have heard. "Womanizer" is about as catchy a song as she has ever put out. And on a personal note, I wish her well. The girl has been through a lot in the past few years. Granted, she brought a lot of it on herself, but still...everyone is human. It seems she is turning herself around and I hope the public will try and assist her in that.

Finally, I will give some thoughts on politics. After all, that's probably what you are here for. On the Bob McDonnell front, he has asked that VA reinstate its' anti-spamming laws and he has also backed the removal of the contraversial "political clothing" rule. As many of you may remember, voters were not allowed to wear any buttons, shirts, etc supporting a candidate in the past election. McDonnell is asking for that ruling to be overturned. Most Virginians would agree. I will be posting many more McDonnell events and news stories in the near future.

Until then,

Lee Vogler
